Domestic Medical Exam

The Office of Global Michigan partners with local clinics and healthcare professionals to provide the Domestic Medical Exam (DME) for refugees and other eligible newcomers.
Private Sponsor Groups need to complete the Welcome Corps Refugee Health Assessment Request Form to schedule the exam. Sponsor groups can complete this form as soon as they have a confirmed arrival date for the refugee(s) they are sponsoring.
After the Private Sponsor Group completes the form, the Office of Global Michigan sends the request to the appropriate clinic. The sponsor receives an email within 5-7 days confirming the clinic they were referred to. The clinic then contacts the sponsor directly within another 5-7 days. The clinic will finalize scheduling and request more information. The form does not collect specific health or identifying info about the newcomer.
